Our inclusive services
The Rock is proud to be a specialist centre for the provision of climbing for physically disabled, learning disabilites and people with autism and neurodiversity. We have specialist trained coaches, a range of equipment and approaches, and specialist adaptive equipment, enabling us to work with a broad range of people and function.
The Rock is a community focused indoor rock climbing facility and project based in the YMCA in Plymouth, Devon, U.K.
Our Aim is to improve access, participation, Inclusion, and performance through indoor rock climbing.
Our sessions are open to all members of the public, and host specialist coached sessions for young people and people with disabilities. We also offer sessions for groups, including local youth groups, scouts, reserve and cadet forces and companies looking for team building or to try something different.
We are community focused and our aim is to encourage healthy lifestyles, positive mental well being and fitness through the sport of rock climbing.
We work in partnership with the YMCA Plymouth to deliver our work, and like them, we also believe in creating opportunities for as many people as possible to develop through engagement and involvement with adventurous sport.
My daughter is autistic, and she was very nervous in a new environment, trying something new. The instructors were brilliant with her and supported her fully every step of the way. Now Molly can't wait to return!
